The city of Lubbock has confirmed another death attributed to Covid-19.
that brings the total number of deaths to 98.
Staffers also confirmed 69 new cases of the virus. 56 of those cases are students or staff at Texas Tech University.
The new positive tests brings the total number of confirmed cases to 7,242. Of those 1,578 are listed as active.
30 more people have recovered from the illness. Since mid-March 5,566 people have tested positive and recovered.
Currently, one in every 10 tests conducted in Lubbock has come back positive with more than 91,000 tests being administered since testing began. That includes people who traveled to the city to be tested. Those result are reported back to their home counties.
74 people are hospitalized with the illness. 30 of them are being treated in the intensive care unit.
There are still more than 300 hospital beds available for any kind of treatment.
