Liggett Law joins Habitat 'Blitz Build' with $25,000 donation

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock's Habitat for Humanity is a big step closer to its Blitz Build goal.

The Liggett Law Group joined the effort to build new homes for the next four years. It's donated $25,000 a year for the Blitz program. That's where volunteers will build two homes in 10 days next month.

The two families will finish their sweat equity hours during the Blitz Build. That's part of the Habitat program that requires families to build their own homes and volunteer in building others.

Ted Leggett says Habitat's mission resonated with him.

"They get people that have -- for some reason or another -- ended up on the downslope of life and through their hard work, they're able to live their good ,hard lives again," he said.

Liggett says he's issued a call to arms for other businesses. He wants them to join as cornerstone partners to help finish funding the build.
