LUBBOCK, Texas -

Families across Texas received pandemic relief aid thanks to Buckner International.

The non-profit distributed more than 100 tons of domestic aid. Earlier this month, Buckner held a drive-thru pickup for families in our area to get ready for back to school. That included backpacks, school supplies, non-perishable foods and PPE like masks and gloves.

"It feels great to be a part of such an agency and organization that is giving back to the community," Angelina Mojica, Program Director for Buckner Family Hope Center, said. "And I mean, you want to put a visual idea of what 100 tons looks like - it's gonna be like a blue whale or your Boeing 757 airplane."

Nearly 55 families in Lubbock received supplies. Buckner also provides foster care and an adoption program.
