Thursday: 44 new COVID-19 cases; 2 additional deaths; 103 more recoveries

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock health department reported 44 new positive COVID-19 cases, two additional deaths and 103 more recoveries Thursday.

There are currently 1,451 active cases in Lubbock County. The total case count is 6,750. 5,207 people have tested positive and since reported a recovery. 92 people have died from the virus.

864 tests were administered today to a total of 83,735 processed since the start of the pandemic. 

73 people are being treated for the virus in Lubbock. Of those, 35 are in the ICU, the other 38 are considered floor patients. There are nearly 500 beds for any purpose at hospitals.
