LUBBOCK, Texas -

News release:

The Amarillo VA Health Care System Caregiver Support Group is hosting an informational fair and free lunch for Veteran caregivers and their spouses via a drive-by Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. to noon (while supplies last) in the parking lot of the Lubbock Vet Center. The VA Support Group is providing this outreach to ensure Veterans and their caregivers are informed of the available resources to them during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some of the resources VA Caregiver Support provides includes peer-support mentoring, telephone support for stressed or burdened providers, suicide prevention dedicated support via a support coordinator. The free lunch, which is made available via donations to the VA Caregiver Support Program, is to thank caregivers for their everyday support of their veteran's healthcare needs.

Caregivers for Veterans who are interested in more information of the VA Caregiver Support Program can visit https://www.caregiver.va.gov/. The free service provides resources, education and support to caregivers of veterans. The Lubbock Vet Center is located at 3106 50th St. suite 400.
