Lubbock first responders meet seven-year-old they revived in 2014

LUBBOCK, Texas -

A seven-year-old girl in Lubbock spent part of her birthday Wednesday honoring Lubbock firemen who saved her life when she was an infant.

When Marley was less than a year old, she stopped breathing. Paramedics from Lubbock Fire Rescue revived here and got her to the hospital.

Her family wanted to make this birthday special and let her meet the firemen who helped save her life. One of those paramedics says it's rewarding beyond words to see Marley so happy.

"I don't do it for the thanks, but it's a thankless job. You run 10, 15 calls a day, every day, for 15 years, you save peoples' lives, you hold people that are crying and you go on with your life," first responder Michael Tackitt said. "You see the bad, you don't ever get to see the good, so coming out here and getting to see a life that myself and Noah touched and made a difference in, is -- it's never happened in 15 years. This is the best."

Marley's grandfather, Benny Guerrero, also used it as an opportunity to thank all first responders. In exchange. Guerrero presented the two men with Medal of Honor coins in recognition for their service.
