Wednesday: 50 new COVID-19 cases; 1 additional death; 146 more recoveries

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock health department reported 50 new positive COVID-19 cases, one additional deaths and 146 more recoveries Wednesday.

There are currently 1,512 active cases in Lubbock County. The total case count is 6,706. 5,104 people have tested positive and since reported a recovery. 90 people have died from the virus.

633 tests were administered today to a total of 82,889 processed since the start of the pandemic. Of those, 8,324 have tested positive, including people from other counties who came here for testing, for an overall positivity rate of 10.2%. There are 320 tests pending results.

74 people are being treated for the virus in Lubbock. Of those, 28 are in the ICU, the other 46 are considered floor patients. There are nearly 500 beds for any purpose at hospitals.
