THIS AFTERNOON: It's slightly hotter than yesterday with plentiful sunshine across the area. There are a few showers in the eastern Panhandle, moving south. Most of these will probably fall apart before they move into the area, but a few sprinkles are possible to the northeast of Lubbock.
Later on this evening into tonight, a few storms may move into the area from New Mexico. And some of these could bring gusty wind. Here is current FOX34 VIPIR:
TONIGHT: Low near 66, partly cloudy. Wind SE 5-15mph.
TOMORROW: Warm and mostly sunny, high near 95. Wind S/SE 10-18mph. An isolated shower or storm is possible, but it's a low chance.
LOOKING AHEAD: It'll trend slightly hotter this weekend with lots of sun. And next week looks hot and dry. We can't rule out a few isolated storms over the next week, but there isn't a promising sign of rain any time soon.
Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
