Monday: 65 new COVID-19 cases; 76 more recoveries

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock health department reported 65 new positive COVID-19 cases and 76 more recoveries Monday. 

There are currently 1,645 active cases in Lubbock County. The total case count is 6,607. 4,875 people have tested positive and since reported a recovery. 87 people have died from the virus. 

A total of 81,333 processed since the start of the pandemic. Out of those, 8,568 have tested positive, including people from other counties who came here for testing, for an overall positivity rate of 10.5%. There are 456 tests pending results.

64 people are being treat for the virus in Lubbock. Of those, 25 are in the ICU, the other 39 are considered floor patients. There are nearly 500 beds for any purpose at hospitals.
