Friday: Two additional deaths; 66 new COVID-19 cases; 137 more recoveries

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock health department reported two additional deaths, 66 new positive COVID-19 cases and 137 more recoveries Friday.

There are currently 1,624 active cases in Lubbock County. The total case count is 6,495. 4,784 people have tested positive and since reported a recovery. 87 people have died from the virus.

There were 653 tests were administered today, for a total of 80,013 processed since the start of the pandemic.

There has been an decrease in people being treated in Lubbock hospitals for the virus, now at 77. Of those, 41 are in the ICU. There are nearly 500 beds for any purpose at hospitals.
