Wednesday: One additional death; 70 new COVID-19 cases; 122 more recoveries

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock health department reported one additional death, 70 new positive COVID-19 cases and 122 more recoveries Wednesday. 

There are currently 1,677 active cases in Lubbock County. The total case count is 6,365. 4,604 people have tested positive and since reported a recovery. 84 people have died from the virus.

There were 672 tests were administered today, for a total of 78,608 processed since the start of the pandemic. Out of those, 8.034 have tested positive, including people from other counties who came here for testing, for an overall positivity rate of 10.2%. There are 576 tests pending results.

There has been an decrease in people being treated in Lubbock hospitals for the virus, now at 97. Of those, 47 are in the ICU. There are nearly 500 beds for any purpose at hospitals.
