Tuesday: Two additional deaths; 73 new COVID-19 cases; 90 more recoveries

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock health department reported two additional deaths, 73 new positive COVID-19 cases and 90 more recoveries Tuesday. 

There are currently 1,730 active cases in Lubbock County. The total case count is 6,295. 4,482 people have tested positive and since reported a recovery. 

There were 989 tests were administered today, for a total of 77,936 processed since the start of the pandemic. Out of those, 7,950 have tested positive, including people from other counties who came here for testing, for an overall positivity rate of 10.2%. There are 723 tests pending results.

There has been an increase in people being treated in Lubbock hospitals for the virus, now at 98. Of those, 49 are in the ICU. There are nearly 500 beds for any purpose at hospitals.
