Man pleads guilty to manslaughter after 2016 deadly crash
LUBBOCK, Texas -
A defendant will spend more than a decade in prison for killing a man in a crash back in 2016.
Kenyal Chambers pleaded guilty to manslaughter for the death of Jose Zarate that summer. Chambers was later indicted on that charge.
He was driving on the wrong side of Ave. Q and struck Zarate's vehicle head-on. The force of the crash sent both vehicles into the center turn lane causing a collision with a third vehicle. Zarate died in the crash.
Chambers will spend 12 years in prison for the crime.
