Wednesday: City reports 60 new positive COVID-19 cases; 1,701 active cases in Lubbock County

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock health department reported 60 new positive cases of COVID-19, 193 more recoveries and one additional Wednesday. 80 people have died from the virus.

There are now 1,701 active cases, with 4,024 confirmed cases now listed as recovered. 5,811 people have been infected with the virus in our county since mid-March.

1,061 tests were administered today, for a total of 73,441 tests processed since the start of the pandemic. 

There are 96 people hospitalized -- three less than yesterday. Of those, 49 are in specialized intensive care and 47 others are "floor patients."
