We knew there was a slim chance for rain in our area and that is what we got. A few locations picked up rain overnight, but only light amounts and not much in coverage. Current radar below:
TODAY: A ridge of high pressure will push southern New Mexico and west Texas today. This will have moisture wrapping on the back end of it providing another slim chances for rain. This will likely develop near the state line and may push into the central South Plains. Otherwise it will be mostly sunny and hot with triple or near triple digit heat.
TONIGHT: Some of the isolated activity may continue, but should diminish before midnight. Partly cloudy with lows in the low 70s.
REST OF WEEK: This low chance for rain may continue into later Thursday, then it turns dry Friday. Highs continue in the upper 90s so stay cool, hydrated, and never leave kids or pets in a vehicle. Southerly wind will be a light breeze 10-18mph.
EXTENDED: No major chances in the forecast with hot sunny days into next week. An isolated shower or storm can't completely be ruled out.
Have a great Wednesday! Matt with the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
