Monday: City reports 59 new positive COVID-19 cases; 1,871 active cases in Lubbock County

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock health department reported 59 new positive cases of COVID-19, 88 more recoveries Monday. 78 people have died from the virus.

There are now 1,871 active cases, with 3,703 confirmed cases now listed as recovered. 5,652 people have been infected with the virus in our county since mid-March.

There are a total of 71,425 test that have been administered in the county. Out of those, 7,098 have tested positive, including people from other counties who came here for testing, for an overall positivity rate of nearly 9.9%. There are 178 tests pending results.

There are 101 people hospitalized, out of those, 48 are in specialized intensive care and 53 others are "floor patients."
