Lower rain chances with climbing temperatures this week

LUBBOCK, Texas -

We had a good coverage of rain starting yesterday afternoon through this early morning. Also had some severe wind gusts near White River Lake clocking a 70mph gust, then a 98mph gust! Here are some of the top rain totals from the Tech Mesonet:

TODAY: A mostly sunny day with the high near 92, light southeast wind 5-15mph.

TONIGHT: There is a low chance for showers and storms to move out of New Mexico and push close to our area. Any activity will likely be in our northwestern counties, if anything can hold together. Partly cloudy for the rest of us with the low near 67.

REST OF THE WEEK: Highs quickly climb with more upper 90s and low 100s. There again is some low chances for rain moving out of New Mexico late Tuesday and late Wednesday. Much of the area looks dry with more cloud cover Wednesday and Thursday.
