Update (7:28 p.m.) 

Lubbock Fire Rescue has recovered the body of the victim. The Medical Examiner's office is now investigating the official cause of death.

Original story: 

The Lubbock Fire Rescue Dive Team is searching for the body of a drowned swimmer at Buffalo Springs Lake Sunday evening.

According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the victim is a 40-year-old male. He is said to have been using a "river type tube" device when he fell into the water on the West side of the lake. Eyewitnesses say they did not see the victim re-surface. 

Authorities are attempting to find the victim using sonar technology. 

Lubbock EMS and Buffalo Springs Police are also on the scene.
