Friday: City reports 79 new positive COVID-19 cases, 3 new deaths; 1,841 active cases in Lubbock County

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock health department reported 79 new positive cases of COVID-19, 245 more recoveries and three additional deaths Friday. 78 people have died from the virus.

There are now 1,841 active cases, with 3,593 confirmed cases now listed as recovered. 5,512 people have been infected with the virus in our county since mid-March.

There were 860 new tests administered, for a total of 69,857.

There are 111 people hospitalized, six more than yesterday. Out of those, 54 are in specialized intensive care and 57 others are "floor patients."
