THIS AFTERNOON: It's mostly sunny and warm with mid to upper 90s across much of the area and even up around 100 at Seminole and Paducah. It's generally in the mid 90s north of Lubbock.
A few isolated storms are possible into this evening, but the chance remains low. To this point we've only seen a few small showers. Here is current FOX34 VIPIR:
TONIGHT: Mostly clear to partly cloudy, low near 71. Wind S/SW 10-18mph.
TOMORROW: Warming up ahead of a front. High in Lubbock near 98. Triple digits common south of the city with it not quite as hot to the north.
As the front edges into our area it will shift the wind out of the N/NE. It will also help provide lift for showers and storms to develop. Some storms could become strong, with gusty wind. There is first a chance for storms along the front in the afternoon, then another shot at storms moving in from New Mexico tomorrow night.
LOOKING AHEAD: Not quite as warm starting Friday. Low chance for a storm Friday and a lower chance Saturday. There may be a few more storms that move into the area late Sunday night.
It will trend hotter again starting Tuesday.
Have a great rest of your day. Robert will have a complete update to the forecast posted here early tomorrow.
