Tuesday: City reports 105 new positive COVID-19 cases; 1,994 active cases in Lubbock County

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock health department reported 105 new positive cases of COVID-19, 136 more recoveries and three additional deaths Tuesday. 75 people have died from the virus.

There are now 1,993 active cases, with 3,186 confirmed cases now listed as recovered. 5,254 people have been infected with the virus in our county since mid-March.

There were 1,404 new tests administered, for a total of 67,287. Out of those, 6,505 have tested positive, including people from other counties who came here for testing, for an overall positivity rate of nearly 9.7%.

There are 110 people hospitalized, three less than yesterday. Out of those, 53 are in specialized intensive care and 57 others are "floor patients."
