Hotter next few days - FOX34 Lubbock

Hotter next few days

Posted: Updated:

THIS AFTERNOON: It's a partly to mostly cloudy and warm day. Low to mid 90s around common around Lubbock and the central South Plains, with 80s to the northeast and mid 90s farther southwest. There are some storms just about every direction from Lubbock at mid-afternoon: a few in the eastern Panhandle, a few near Sweetwater and Abilene and a few west of Roswell.

Here is FOX34 VIPIR:

TONIGHT: Chance for a shower or storm this evening through tomorrow morning. The chance is better to the northwest of Lubbock. Low near 71, wind SE/S 7-12mph.

TOMORROW: Warmer with a mix of sun and clouds, high near 97. Wind S 10-15mph. An isolated storm is possible in the afternoon.

LOOKING AHEAD: Thursday should again reach the upper 90s with a slim storm chance. Then a front will knock the temperature back to the upper 80s to lower 90s Friday through Sunday. There will also be a slightly better chance for storms.

Next week should trend warmer, with mid to upper 90s.

Have a great rest of your day. Robert will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
