Monday: City reports 50 new positive COVID-19 cases; 2,028 active cases in Lubbock County

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock health department reported 50 new positive cases of COVID-19 and 42 more recoveries and four additional deaths Monday. 72 people have died from the virus.

There are now 2,028 active cases, with 3,050 confirmed cases now listed as recovered. 5,150 people have been infected with the virus in our county since mid-March.

There were 810 new tests administered, for a total of 65,833. Out of those, 6,380 have tested positive, including people from other counties who came here for testing, for an overall positivity rate of nearly 9.7%.

There are 113 people hospitalized. Out of those, 53 are in specialized intensive care and 60 others are "floor patients."
