Saturday: City reports 52 new positive COVID-19 cases; 2,981 active cases in Lubbock County

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock health department reported 52 new positive cases of COVID-19 and 58 more recoveries Saturday. 68 people have died from the virus.

There are now 1,965 active cases, with 2,981 confirmed cases now listed as recovered.

There were 810 new tests administered, for a total of 62,697 since mid-March. Out of those, 6,023 have tested positive, including people from other counties who came here for testing, for an overall positivity rate of 9.6%.

There are 117 people hospitalized, 11 more than yesterday. Out of those, 54 are in specialized intensive care and 63 others are "floor patients."
