Thursday: 111 new cases; 2,278 now active in Lubbock County

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock health department reported 111 new positive COVID-19 cases and 66 more recoveries. 68 people have died from the virus. 

There are now 2,278 active cases, with 2,534 confirmed cases now listed as recovered.

Since mid-March, the City of Lubbock has identified 4,880 cases of COVID-19. 

There were 884 new tests administered Thursday, for a total of 61,141 since mid-March. Out of those, 5,804 have tested positive, including people from other counties who came here for testing, for an overall positivity rate of 9.5%.

The number of people hospitalized remains at 113 as of Thursday. Out of those, 52 are in specialized intensive care.
