Census workers to visit home, less than 57% of Lubbock households have not responded
LUBBOCK, Texas -
Starting August 11, the government will visit homes of those who've yet to fill out the 2020 Census. Fewer than 57% percent of households have responded in Lubbock.
That's only a sliver more than the Texas average, but less than the national average response of 62%.
The Census affects all federal money coming into our area. That includes grants for non-profits, higher education, housing, health care and emergency response. It also affects congressional representation, state representation and electoral college votes.
