City offering free back-to-school shots starting Saturday

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

Kids can get their back-to-school shots in free clinics the next couple of weeks.

The first will be at Estacado High School this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The next clinic will be at Monterey High School, set for the same time on August 1.

Clinics are open to any child six months and older who is eligible for the Texas Vaccines for Children Program. That includes children who are uninsured, have Medicaid or have CHIP.

Everyone will be screened for fever and other COVID-19 symptoms before being allowed into the clinic. Anyone who is more than 10-years-old will be required to wear a mask at all times while at the facility. Children older than three are encouraged.

Parents will need to bring their child's most recent shot record.
