More isolated storms today, drying up for the weekend

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

Scattered but isolated storms brought good rain to parts of the area and a lot of the Mesonet sites missed this rain. Here are the totals they did pick up:
White River Lake 1.07"
Seagraves 0.59"
Slaton 0.42"
Plains 0.32"
Olton 0.30"
Dora NM 0.15"
Paducah 0.08"
Near Tech 0.06"

TODAY: More scattered isolated storms expected as we get into the afternoon hours. Again most locations start dry, but the ones under the storms have the chance for heavy rain and some higher wind gusts. High near 91 with a light southeast wind.

Current radar:
South Plains Radar

TONIGHT: Rain chances diminish again as we go into the night hours with an isolated shower still possible overnight. Mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 60s and low 70s area wide.

WEEKEND: An isolated shower or storms possible Friday, but not as great of a chance as the last few days. Temperatures stay in the lower 90s with lows in the 60s and 70s through Sunday with some clouds.

NEXT WEEK: Some uncertainty in models with possible rain into next week. The European model bring a front in to the region with good moisture and give us a great shot for possible wide spread rain. Not the same outlook with Global model keeping us some what dry. So going a slight chance for now with highs continuing in the 90s.

Have a great Thursday! Matt with the next updated tonight on the News at Nine.
