The Lubbock Police Department released more information Wednesday morning regarding Tuesday's SWAT standoff in Central Lubbock .

Police blocked off the area near 36th and Nashville Tuesday afternoon to negotiate with a man barricaded in a home there, who they believed may have had a gun.

The suspect later surrendered to police after SWAT arrived.

Police report Shane Allen Ryan Lester, 29, was known to be a felon and suspect in a recent burglary. Officers attempted to detain him, and he ran into the residence. The residents inside came out and after a short stand off with negotiators on scene, police say Lester was talked out of the house. He was arrested without further incident.
