Isolated areas to get rain next couple of days

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

A few spots picked up some rain yesterday, but most of the area stayed dry. This will be the set up for the next few days with a chance for isolated storms popping up during the afternoon and evening hours. Area wide rain is not expected, but some spots may pick up a quick quarter to half inch. Also, some higher wind gusts may occur from these isolated storms.

CURRENT RADAR:
South Plains Radar

TODAY: High near 94 with a light southeast wind 5-15mph.

TONIGHT: Low near 70, may have additional rain as a few models are hinting and like we have experienced the past few days.

WEDNESDAY: Party cloudy with the high near 92.

EXTENDED: Things look to dry up to end the week, but may have some more showers and storms by Sunday. A tropical system pushes out of the gulf and may push into our area to start next week. Still some details to work out with many days ahead, but long range models are agreeing on this for now. Temperatures continue around the seasonal average for this time of year.

Have a great Tuesday! Pray for rain! Matt with the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
