LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Silent Wings Museum is showcasing a new exhibit. Images of Valor is a series of panels highlighting an armed forces member from the South Plains.

The display features Latin Americans who served in World War II.

Each display includes an image of the veteran, a snippet of their experience and some historical background information.

Sharon McCullar, the museum curator, says it's important to share these pieces of history.

"They felt it was their duty to serve, but they didn't feel like it was important to toot their own horn about that. So they were very quite about their own service after world war two was over. So it's important to draw that connection between this generation and that world war two generation and what that service meant to the Latino community and what that service means to their descendants today," she said.

The exhibit will be on display from now until August 23.
