LUBBOCK, Texas -

A Lubbock man has been federally indicted for felon in possession of a firearm.

Tikece Jolly, 18, is accused of possessing an illegal firearm used in a shooting that injured one last month near East 8th Street and Oak Ave.

Police responded to reported gunshots in the area and found Jolly and his brother, Tydrick Ranson, running northbound across Parkway Dr. where Jolly was arrested.

Officers recovered .22 caliber and .223 caliber shell casings outside the victim's home. The victim was struck by a bullet in his right leg and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Jolly told police he and his brother were victims of a drive-by shooting at their home two weeks prior. The two found out where the suspects responsible for that shooting lived.

Jolly's girlfriend told police she knew about his criminal history and that Jolly claims to be a member of the Crips Street Gang.

Court documents indicated the firearm used by Jolly was purchased at Cabela's by his girlfriend. "Because the firearm was purchased by Trout after Jolly was under indictment, Jolly necessarily willfully received the firearm during the time he was under indictment for a felony."

If convicted, Jolly faces up to 15 years in prison without the possibility for parole.
