Public continues to show support for law officers

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK -

Members of the public continue to show support for law officers and first responders, in various ways.

Bill Locke is a former paramedic from New York. He says we are in a time when many people are attacking police for the work they do; work that is vital to keep the public safe.

To show his support, Locke provided free sandwiches from Slim Chickens.

"We got to look out for each other, that's all we got," Locke said. "And we can't allow the nonsense that's happening in New York to come down here or be around here. It's not good for everybody."

Locke says he used an app and anonymous donors to get the food together. He says that shows there are more Lubbock residents who quietly support their law enforcers.
