Hotter days ahead for our area with a lower chance for any rain. Today will be mostly sunny with the high near average at 93. Wind speeds stay light 5-10mph changing southeast into the afternoon. There may be some showers and storms that make it out of New Mexico into our northwestern counties if they can hold together this evening. Not much is expected in precipitation but wind speeds may increase as they diminishes.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear with more 70s in our lows than 60s like this morning.
WEDNESDAY: Things quickly become unbearably hot again with upper 90s and 100s across our area. A pop up shower or storms can't be ruled out, but again the chance is very low.
MORE HEAT TO COME: A ridge of high pressure strengthens to our west and this will bring highs in the single digit 100s through Friday. Then this weekend we continue to climb with possible new record highs. Low temperatures also will warm to the upper 70s for some mild mornings.
Have a great day! Matt with the next check of the hot days ahead tonight on the News at Nine.
