THIS AFTERNOON: It's partly cloudy and in the upper 80s, so not too bad on the heat. There are a few small showers and storms that have popped up. The coverage will stay fairly low and will diminish after sunset. Here is FOX34 VIPIR:
TONIGHT: Mostly clear, low near 67. Wind NE 5-10mph.
TOMORROW: High near 94, mostly sunny. Wind E/SE 5-12mph.
HEAT WAVE: A very strong ridge of high pressure aloft will set up over the southwestern and south central United States. This means sunny days with little hope for rain. The high temp might make it to 100 Wednesday and will likely climb above it Thursday through at least next Wednesday. We expect the hottest days yet this year, with several days likely making it to at least 105.
Yes, it's a simple forecast...it's going to be hot. I've lived in Texas my whole life, doesn't take a meteorologist to convey it's going to be hot in July. But once we start getting several degrees above 100 it can be dangerous, especially for people who are older or don't have access to reliable A/C. So please check on anyone who might need it.
Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a full update here tomorrow morning.
