Plainview SAFE Program to provide items to local businesses to mitigate COVID-19

Posted: Updated:
PLAINVIEW, Texas -

The City of Plainview is taking a cue from Lubbock and is now offering its own voluntary program for businesses.

The Plainview Safe! Program will provide hand sanitizing products and masks to small businesses for employees and customers.

Businesses can reach out to the Hale County Health Department or the Chamber of Commerce to sign up.

Along with pushing masks and hygiene, the City of Plainview encourages everyone to limit non-essential travel. The city's also offering a Plainview Cares relief fund for small businesses.

Any business in the city limits that's been open for at least a year is eligible.

The money can go toward overhead, payroll, rent, utilities or inventory.

There are four tiers based on revenue. Businesses can be eligible for between $2,500 and $20,000.
