Human remains found in search for missing Texas soldier

TEXAS -

Investigators have arrested one woman for the death of a soldier stationed at Fort Hood. A second suspect died by suicide early Wednesday morning.

The victim's family claims the base is covering up something about the soldier's death.

A family attorney says investigators recovered the partial remains of Private First Class Vanessa Guillen in a shallow grave in central Texas. The 20-year-old soldier was last seen April 22.

Army investigators haven't official identified the remains. Private Guillen's family claims she was previously the victim of sexual harassment on base and suggest her disappearance is linked to her reporting it.

"Fort Hood lacks of responsibility, safety and respect, because they didn't respect my sister. They didn't keep my sister safe. They always tried to cover up for each other. Why? My sister's a human, too. She deserves respect. She deserves to be heard, because, if this can happen to my sister, it can happen to anyone else," sister of Private Guillen said.

The suspect who died is an active duty soldier station at Fort Hood. The woman in custody is a civilian married to a former Fort Hood soldier.

Their names haven't been released.
