Watching storms developing to our west in New Mexico as this looks to make it in parts of our area. Better chances of this rain will be in our western counties, some higher wind gusts will also be possible. Rain chances diminish before midnight with a partly cloudy night. Wind speeds stay a light breeze 12-18mph from the south, low near 71. Current radar below:
SUNDAY: Highs near 98 with triple digits in the area, and wind speeds will be a little stronger from the south-southwest wind 12-20mph. Some models hint at a chance for isolated storms to pop-up along a dry line. Not a great chance but some areas may get rain from around I-27 and areas east.
NEXT WEEK: Ridge of high pressure move in and continues the heat through the week with upper 90s and low 100s. Lows continue to stay mild in the upper 60s and low 70s. The wind continues to be breezy through Tuesday. With multiple days of heat, make sure to stay hydrated and find ways to stay cool if you area outdoors.
