Lubbock Impact, H-E-B provide free meals to local families

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock Impact partnered with HEB and Cactus Cares to give away 600 pounds of beef today.

The non-profit hosted its weekly drive-thru soup kitchen where invited guests were given meals, supplies and job fliers.

Lubbock Impact's Executive Director Rory Thomas says despite being closed since March, the organization has been blessed during the pandemic.

"We get to see how Lubbock helps Lubbock. We lost all of our volunteers but we gained a whole bunch of other people, organizations, businesses, other ministries coming over and being apart of us and it truly is a joy," Thomas said.

Each week between 250 to 300 clients are invited to the pop-up pantry.
