Hale County confirms 22 new COVID-19 cases, 1 new death and 8 additional recoveries

Hale County officials confirmed 22 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday -- its largest number of cases reported in a single day. The total number of confirmed cases has now reached 200. Of those, 100 are active. 

Hale County also reported eight additional recoveries, with 93 listed as recovered. One new death was reported, with seven total deaths attributed to the virus. 

Of the 1,754 tests administered, 1,539 have come back negative with 76 tests pending. 

The majority of cases are in Plainview at 177, following with Hale Center at 10. Nine cases are confirmed in Petersburg, three in Abernathy and one in Edmonson.
