Saturday: Lubbock at 1,288 COVID-19 cases; 629 active; 608 recoveries and 51 deaths

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock health department confirmed 80 new COVID-19 cases Saturday. This brings the total number of cases to 1,288. 629 cases are active, with the number of active cases continuing to trend upward. 

No new recoveries were reported, with the total number of recoveries remaining at 608. The number of people who've died from the virus also remains at 51.

The city has administered 29,921 tests. Of those, 1,584 have come back positive with 543 tests pending. This city saw an increase from yesterday of 1,098. A record number of people were tested this week following several Lubbock bars and restaurants closing after reported exposures. 

No new hospitalizations were reported, but it is down by one. Currently, 20 people are hospitalized with 10 floor patients and 10 in the ICU.
