Thursday: Lubbock at 1,136 COVID-19 cases; 493 active; 592 recoveries; 51 deaths

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock health department confirmed 105 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, the most in a single day. This brings the total number of cases to 1,136. The city reached 1,000 cases as of yesterday. There were also a record number of tests added.

Of the total, 493 are active cases.

The department also reported 10 additional recoveries, with a total of 592 listed as recovered and 51 deaths. 

Additionally, the health department identified more than 20 potential exposure sites; this mainly includes local bars and restaurants. Among these possible exposure sites, the Mackenzie Place Senior Living facility also confirmed positive COVID-19 cases among its residents. The facility did not disclose how many residents have contracted the virus. 

21 people are hospitalized, with seven floor patients and 14 in the ICU. Lubbock remains well below local hospital capacity

The city administered 965 tests today. 1,365 tests have come back positive, with 512 tests pending results.
