UPDATED: Man found seriously injured, police investigating aggravated assault

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Update from the Lubbock Police Department: 

Around 10 a.m. on June 18, the Lubbock Police Department responded to a check subject call in the 1700 block of 9th Street.

When officers arrived, they located a 52-year-old unresponsive male. He was transported to UMC by EMS with life threatening injuries.

Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit responded. The case remains under investigation.

When officers arrived, they found the victim in serious condition. He was taken to UMC. 

The department's Metro Unit are currently investigating the incident. 

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available. 

FOX34 sent out an app alert prior to posting this story stating the victim was injured in a shooting. We have updated the information to reflect that police are investigating the incident.
