LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA) announced 490 new jobs, which will include more than $103 million in capital investment.

"This is a huge day for us. It's through the investments by these companies that continues us to allow to recover at a better and faster rate," LEDA CEO John Osborne said.

240 of these jobs will be at AT&T. It needs customer service reps, some even bilingual.

"These are great jobs. Not just for the city of Lubbock but also for our many college students." LEDA Director of Business Retention Kenny McKay said.

TBC Beauty Enterprises, off 82nd and Avenue P, is adding 125 new and returning jobs.

"It's a central location for all of our shipping and it's by the airport but more importantly we get to stay in Lubbock," TBC CEO Preston Madden said. "We get to hire Lubbock employees and we have the best workforce in the United States."

The other 125 jobs are thanks to an investment from General Advanced Foods.

"General advanced foods will be reactivating the only corn mill in Lubbock and investing about $87-88 million to expand the facility," General Advanced Foods' Gary Van Dam said.

AT&T is hiring over the next six months. TBC will start its hiring process at some point over the next six months as well. General Advanced Foods will accept applications once it establishes its program and finishes renovations.
