LUBBOCK COUNTY, Texas -

Hot spots reignited Monday morning just outside the city limits near East 2nd & Quetzel Avenue, across the street from Genesis Baptist Fellowship.

This came, after multiple crews battled a large fire there Sunday evening.

The fire engulfed multiple structures, including residential buildings.

A thick plume of smoke could be seen across Lubbock Sunday evening

Roosevelt Fire Chief Bill Sides said a few people had been treated for smoke inhalation on the scene, but no one was taken to the hospital.

The State Fire Marshall's Office is now investigating the cause.

Investigators believe the fire may have begun as a grass fire, due to dry conditions.

The Red Cross is currently assisting 2 families who lost their homes.
