South Plans Food Bank receives $92,000 donation for COVID-19 relief

LUBBOCK, Texas -

News release:

Ørsted has made a donation of $92,000 on behalf of the Sage Draw Wind Farm to support emergency relief to the project’s host communities and surrounding areas as they confront the economic impacts of the Coronavirus.

Ørsted initially donated $12,000 from project scrap metal sale proceeds and added $80,000 to support the South Plains Food Bank as it continues to assist the hundreds of families whose households have been affected by theCovid-19 pandemic.

“Ørsted is dedicated to being a long-term partner to the communities that host our wind farms.”says ?Neil O’Donovan, Senior Vice President & COO Onshore at ?Ø?rsted. ?

Ø?rsted projects are located in Lynn and Garza counties which is within the South Plains Food Bank service area.

David Weaver, CEO of the South Plains Food Bank states, “We are so very grateful for the donation ?Ørsted has given to us especially during these uncertain times. With this we can continue working to end hunger for the many families.”

This donation will allow the South Plains Food Bank to provide 276,000 meals for many families.
