Most-wanted gang fugitive arrested, deputies injured in chase

A man listed as one of Lubbock's most-wanted gang fugitives is off the streets following a chase Wednesday night.

The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office reports its warrants division was conducting a gang investigation near University and Akron avenue. The cross street was not specified. Deputies tried to stop a car, which took off.

The vehicle chase ended at 21st Street and Joliet Avenue. Law officers arrested Victor Quintanilla, Jr. 

The sheriff's office reports two deputies were treated and released from the hospital for injuries sustained in a crash during the vehicle chase. 

Multiple agencies responded to search on foot for at least one person who ran away. As of early Thursday morning, they did not catch this person. No suspect description was provided. 

Quintanilla is charged with evading arrest in a vehicle causing injury, evading on foot, being a felon with a gun and a parole violation.
