Local home builder says COVID-19 contributing to future of home buying

LUBBOCK, Texas -

News release:

Betenbough Homes has launched a new way to offer more home for less money to home buyers across West Texas, and it will be here to stay. While many home buyers still want to shop for their new home in-person, the COVID-19 pandemic and local shelter-in-place recommendations, propelled Betenbough Homes to offer a virtual shopping experience for buyers.

“The need for a virtual home buying experience is something we have been working to bring to our market, but COVID-19 has brought it to the forefront,” said Jeanna Roach, Betenbough Homes vice president of sales and marketing. “This is a unique time in history that has given momentum to a virtual experience that has influenced home buying for years to come!”

Prior to the Corona virus outbreak, Betenbough Homes was one of the first builders to adopt virtual reality tours and had curated other virtual resources to offer buyers looking to shop online – a move that helped the company adapt quickly to the pandemic.

“We are passionate about pioneering efforts to make ‘home’ available to everyone in a way that works for each of our customers,” shared Roach. “As an affordable home builder, many of our customers are first-time buyers – a generation that appreciates access to transparent online information with the ability to buy with the click of a button.”

Amidst COVID-19, Betenbough Homes’ sales teams are hosting virtual VIP tours as a buying option and home buyers can browse exterior and interior home selections through the builder’s “Option Lookbooks.” The home builder is also offering a virtual home buying basics class for home buyers in Lubbock.

"There are always several factors that influence the process of purchasing a new home, and those were only amplified with the current circumstances presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. As out-of-state buyers from Tennessee, travel was restricted and unpredictable. However, the digital experience provided by the Betenbough team was innovative, friendly and ultimately helped us to feel confident every step of the way,” said Britton Drown, new Betenbough homeowner. “The sales team provided multiple personal video tours of multiple homes, as well as the community, and was always readily available to answer questions over the phone when we had them. Betenbough Homes was simply excellent at adapting to the circumstances we faced as buyers, and the overall experience provided our family a glimpse into the possibilities provided by digital technology during the home buying experience."

Betenbough Homes continues to follow CDC, state and local government guidelines while remaining open to serve home buyers in-person or virtually.
