For the first time since March 23, the City of Lubbock's daily COVID-19 report showed no new cases. This also continues a trend in place each day in May, where the number of new cases is less than 10.

There are currently 196 active cases among the county's residents. Of people who were tested and received a positive, 373 have recovered. The death toll remains at 50 people.

Much more data is available at the city's COVID-19 dashboard

As the number of recoveries continues to climb and active cases decreases, the city is reducing the frequency of its news conferences, which had been semiweekly. There will not be a Monday morning news conference. On Monday the city will announce its plans for these news conferences going forward.

Governor Abbott will make an announcement Monday as the state continues its reopening. You can watch the governor's news conference at 2 p.m. Monday on FOX34, FOX34 NewsNow and in the FOX34 News app.
