LUBBOCK, Texas -

The suspect charged in the shooting death of Cody Moreno, 28, reportedly "pulled a gun on him" several times before the incident, sources told investigators.

Police arrested Robert Miner, 34, Friday for Moreno's murder.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired and a crash Thursday evening near 30th Street and Ave. Q. Police responded to the wreck and found Moreno in the driver's seat of a black Toyota Camry with an apparent gunshot wound.

Investigators believe Miner waited for Moreno Thursday evening in the parking lot of the Park Tower Apartments on Ave. Q. Police say Miner drove behind Moreno's vehicle onto Ave. Q, then crashed with Moreno. Police report Miner walked up to Moreno and shot him in his vehicle.

One witness told police she heard a loud noise then a screeching sound and then another loud noise, according to the warrant released Monday.

Investigators discovered Miner had been using an alias under the name "Dozer" and that he and Moreno had been in a dispute through Facebook messages, the warrant states. Details on what the argument was about were not released.

Miner's mother told investigators she confronted her son about the damage to her SUV, and said Miner told her he and his girlfriend were involved in a hit-and-run crash near 98th Street and I-27.

Investigators received photos of the damage and believe it to be consistent with witness descriptions given to police at the scene of the crash on Ave. Q.

Miner was arrested without incident in the 8200 block of County Road 5830 in Shallowater. He is held on a $250,000 bond for the murder charge.
